Hey, I know it's been pretty quiet from me lately but I've been busy with work and life in general, but to keep connected I've recently joined Tumblr in an attempt to give more exposure to my fanfiction.

So far it hasn't been working, but it's only been a few days, so I'm still hoping for the best. Here's the link for anyone interested. thefanfictioninglibrarian.tumb…
I also have a work related tumblr blog too, right now it only has book reviews and book related reblogs, but it's still in its infancy.

Well, it looks like I lived through 2012, despite all the financial problems and all the doomsayers telling us the world was going to end. (And with Sandy all those horrible shootings and the election, I was almost believing them) But it's 2013 and I'm still here, yup, I didn't enact my plan B of somehow stealing Felix's hammer and running away to Equestria like I had been thinking of doing.

Now I'm looking towards the new year with a new optimism...and a new car! Thank you Dan for buying me a much needed new vehicle for the holidays!

And thanks to all my friends who got me gifts even though they knew my financial situation would make it so I couldn't get them anything. I really appreciate all the kindness and support I've gotten from all of you.

And in more good news, I've gotten to writing again (Thank you Disney for giving me the gift of Wreck-It Ralph) so keep an eye on things to come.

See ya laters

Happy Forth!

1 min read
Wishing everyone a happy Independence day. I participated in our local parade representing the library branch I work at. We were handing out flyers and candy promoting our summer reading club, and we were told by our supervisors not to throw the candy, but the float behind us was tossing candy will-nilly, luring poor children into the streets into the path of the floats. A real eye-rolling moment. It was fun to do the parade, but we were soaked to the bone in sweat by the end of it.

In other news, I met my summer reading club goal of 12 hours and all I got was a pin. I guess I'm okay with that since I can't get any of the raffle prizes being a library employee. I was however the first at my branch to get one, so I've got bragging rights to that.

Have a happy forth! Enjoy your BBQs and be careful with those fireworks.

For those of you who remember, I started a project involving some wish granting characters. Well it looks like greeting cards won't be the medium in which I use these guys, which is why I'm kinda starting over. Some of them are getting makeovers and to better explore their personalities, I'm hoping to get some mini-comics done depicting each of them granting a wish. Here's were you come in!

I need wishes. I did put up a forum forum.deviantart.com/community… but the only wishes I've gotten from that so far are for immortality and pointy hats. Nope, I need more then that, and more along the lines of what kids and young teens might ask for. I've decided my wish granters will only grant wishes for people 16 and younger to make things less complicated. After all, I eventually want this to become a kid's cartoon someday, so nothing too dark or controversial. Other then that, wish for whatever you want.

Chandler: As long as it's not a pony!

In other news I finished my first SRC book! I hope you're all reading too!

It's summer time! And with the kids out of school it's also time for everyone to be reminded of the importance of literacy even outside of school. So Columbus Metro Library has kicked off its yearly Summer Reading Club complete with summer reading contest. Us librarians will be signing up the kiddies and their parents (yes even adults without kids can join) for a chance to gather points for every hour they read towards big prizes! If you live in the Columbus area go to your local branch and sign up if you haven't already. It's the perfect excuse to read all those books you kept putting off reading.

And if you don't live anywhere near Columbus, check your local library to see what they're offering for the summer. heck, even if they have no summer reading program you should get out there and read! Just think about it; it's summer! All that free daylight!

I'll keep you all up to date on my own personal SRC highlights including reviews of what I've read and any other interesting tidbits.

Happy reading Ya'll!
